B. Gerald "Jerry" Sumner received his bachelor's degree from Faith Way Baptist College. Prior to his decision to attend law school (and while actively teaching), he also received his Master's Degree .

He then earned his law degree from Regent University School of Law where he distinguished himself as a member of the Law Review and Council of Graduate Students.

After becoming an attorney, Mr. Sumner continued to teach, and has taught programs in both North Carolina and Colorado. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2000, Mr. Sumner worked for a major insurance company as in-house counsel for the claim's department. These experiences have culminated in a wealth of experience in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Bankruptcy. Mr. Sumner's clients are the recipient of his excellent representation, which is made possible from his rather unique history. His talent and reputation are only complimented by his tireless effort to serve his clients.

Mr. Sumner understands that medical and financial problems are commonly tied together, and can typically stem from a work injury. He has found that his two areas of practice (Workers’ Comp and Bankruptcy) can help clients get back on their feet.
